Mildura isn’t exactly overflowing with wedding venues. So when you find one that genuinely works across ceremony, portraits and reception without requiring you to spend half your day in a car, it’s worth knowing about. Willow and Ivie is that venue.

I look at venues differently to your guests. I’m thinking about light, layout, and what happens when the sun goes down.
Willow and Ivie has a chapel option for ceremonies which sounds like a small detail until you’re standing in harsh Mildura midday sun trying to keep your eyes open for photos. The indoor ceremony space is air conditioned, beautifully lit, and gives you even flattering light without the squinting. If your ceremony falls during the brighter part of the day it’s worth serious consideration.
The reception space is the thing I appreciate most as a photographer. A lot of Mildura venues are dark in ways that make photography genuinely difficult. Willow and Ivie allows candles, which changes everything. Candlelight at a reception is the difference between photos that feel like a wedding and photos that feel like a film.
The layout also allows photographers and videographers to move freely without blocking guest sightlines. That sounds technical but what it means practically is that I can be in the right place at the right moment without anyone having to shuffle around me.

Alina and Simon ran through a tunnel of sparklers at 11pm. Laughter, smoke, music. Willow and Ivie didn’t just permit it, they helped set it up safely and made sure it actually happened. If you have your heart set on that kind of send-off, this is a venue that delivers it without drama.

Willow and Ivie is one of those venues that looks great and actually runs well behind the scenes. The staff handle the details which means on the day you’re not fielding logistics questions, you’re just present with your people.
If you’re considering it for your wedding and want to know how to get the most out of it photographically, get in touch. I’ve shot there enough times to have very specific opinions about timing and location.
