I’ve photographed enough Mildura weddings to know that the celebrant can make or break the room. A great one reads the energy, tells your actual story, and somehow keeps things moving while also giving everyone permission to feel everything. A bad one makes it feel like a government appointment.

Why the celebrant and photographer relationship matters

As your photographer I’m always watching the celebrant as much as I’m watching the couple. A good celebrant knows when to pause, when to let a moment breathe, and when to bring the energy back up. Those are the moments I’m hunting for. The laugh that breaks through the tears, the look between two people who can’t quite believe they’re here. The best ceremonies give me a hundred frames worth chasing.
